Metro NYC Fashion Takes - Style on the Go
The last couple of weeks offered glimpses of some emerging fall styles.
This mod ensemble featured a lace top with tartan plaid skinny slacks - spotted in Murray Hill.
Here are Capri pants offering a streamlined classic look in a rich berry tone with two essentials, a crisp white shirt and a fine gauge cardigan. This was shot downtown near the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
A gorgeous golden oversized cardigan complements the leggings here, doing away with the notion that spandex should be quarantined to workouts. If you pair leggings properly and have the figure, they become a comfortable option for fall.
This next look offers a few lessons in style, first take in her overall silhouette - the form fitting sweater is balanced by the boot cut pants, then finished with the definitive pointed toe pumps. Nothing is overdone here and it coordinates beautifully. A simple, classic look that illustrates how to add elegance to casual wear.
Her sweater is a fine donegal tweed with a luxurious olive base interspersed with gold, umber, cream and rust flecks. Perfectly matched with the khaki pants.
Mother and daughter could not look prettier early in the morning outside lower Manhattan's Millennium Hilton! Ladies, please take note: lady-like attire is never out of style. The young ladies' matching blue patent pumps look spectacular here with her featherweight silk dress.
This commuting student shuns the notion of t-shirt and jeans looking sloppy: dark denim, rolled cuff and polished wing tips show off his personal taste...and give sock knitters a trend to embrace.
Another dark denim rolled cuff seen in a Jersey City, NJ. Remember, not every fashion is favorable. He would do better with a looser lower leg on those jeans when sporting this look.
Stay tuned for more style on the go.
