NYC Street Style Takes - August 2013

Style around town in NYC.

Love the lace pullover seen in Korea town near Herald Square. The cigarette? Not so much...

This metro girl was spotted sporting a long cardigan over a shorts set with ankle boots in saddle. A great look for her warm skin tone thanks to the sand colored cardigan, if she had been all in navy it would not have worked nearly so well.

The swingy topper also offers modesty and a classy way to dress those curves walking through midtown.

This woman stood out from the crowd for her perfectly pulled together ease. She has the figure to wear this sleek outfit and notice that nothing about it is overdone. She shows skin, but not too much; she has heels, but not too high; her skirt is form fitting, but not binding or too short; she chose high contrast black and white, but it is not garish; she opted for casual, but not sloppy. This fashionable woman is wearing her clothes, they are not wearing her!

Finally we come come to menswear...do you see a hint of fall's forecast in these wonderful wingtips? The burnt orange jeans and spanking new "red" leather shoes set the tone for Fall 2013. I think I would like to see the shoes paired with some charcoal tweed slacks and a matching hand knit cardigan, left open over a classic shirt. What would you pair them with?

There is a great version of the wingtip made by Hush Puppies, the "Brogue." It is available in both suede and leather, with a few different color combos (including saddle red leather like the one above)...click the shoe below to check them out on Amazon.

I may have to gift my son with a pair of these before he heads back to Rutgers!
