Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief

Today I went online to find a "Ravelry" group that is collecting hand made items for residents of New Jersey, where I live. There were not any. So I started a group after checking with my family to see if they would be interested in helping out. Of course they said "YES!"

I intend to collect, sort and distribute the items through local relief agencies and am requesting support from the knit and crochet community. If you have the skills and heart to share something with the victims of the storm I will make sure your items are placed here in NJ.

There are agencies looking for support of goods: The JC Volunteer Facebook lists a senior center looking for blankets, a toy drive expected to have a much greater demand because of Sandy and the Hope Center needs baby pajamas. I am sure there will be recipients found for the items that are made.

If you would like more information, please visit the group's page on Ravelry.

(You will need to register to use Ravelry if you do not have an account already. Ravelry is an online community for fiber artists).
