So, what is on my needles this week?

A baby bonnet for a colleague who just welcomed child number four into the world. This is being knit up in Plymouth Encore worsted. It is my own design inspired by a Plymouth dk weight pamphlet.

Actively getting attention is a pair of men's socks for my oldest boy, who at a towering 6' 3" needs an extra-large sock. I've joined a Knit-A-Long over at Ravelry which has been very inspiring. This particular KAL's guidelines are to choose a pattern from one of the listed designers.  I've selected a basic sock that starts from the toe-up and am knitting it with Fabel by Drops Design. The colors are a straightforward black with a wedgewood blue toe, heel and cuff.

The background shown above is the map of the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, where the legendary NYS Sheep and Wool Festival, a.k.a. RHINEBECK, is taking place. I have the great fortune of a day trip to the event, due to a member of the Big Apple Knitter's Guild  organizing a bus trip. I am looking forward to attending for the second year in a row.
